"We did not like their beds. The mattresses were the kind that conform to your body - you actually had to pick yourself up off the bed to turn over during the night and the part of your body that was touching the bed was like being in a cocoon and was to warm."

This property is three miles north of the downtown area, and approximately 40 miles from the Theodore Francis Green State Airport. This hotel is one mile from the Naval Academy and the Naval Underwater Center. It is two miles to the Tora Synagogue and the Newport Tennis Hall of Fame.
Built in 1959, the Newport Inn's amenities include free parking, glass-enclosed pool, fitness center, game room, laundry facility, 24-hour front desk, dry cleaning, express check in, wake-up calls, limited business services, a hair salon on site and spa services. The Captain's Table Pub and Restaurant is open for breakfast and dinner. Rooms are equipped with a hairdryer, iron and ironing board, coffeemaker, cable television with complimentary HBO, a refrigerator, and a microwave.
Please note that the hotel provides a shuttle on weekends from May to end of October from 5 pm until midnight with a cost of 2.00 per person each way.
Also, starting November 1, part of hotel will be undergoing renovations.
